    51-year-old man who died after Goodyear Heights motorcycle crash identified

    Smith was traveling south on a Yamaha motorcycle at a high speed in the 400 block of Brittain Road when he went left of center to pass other vehicles going the same direction. He collided with a Mazda coming from the north, driven by a 20-year-old man that was turning left into a driveway, police said.

    Smith was ejected from the motorcycle and later transported to Summa Akron City Hospital where he died the next afternoon. He was a wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

    The 20-year-old driver of the Mazda was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries while the passenger was not injured.
