    Victim identified after weekend shooting in Akron

    AKRON , Ohio (WJW) — Officials have released the identity of a man who was shot and killed in Akron over the weekend .

    The shooting took place Saturday, June 8 at about 3:30 p.m. Officers were called to the corner of Raymond and Bartges Streets. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been shot in the back. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The Summit County Medical Examiner has now identified the victim as Antwan James Edwards, 20, of Akron. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the torso, according to a Tuesday press release.

    According to police, “multiple male subjects” were in the area at the time of the shooting and were seen dispersing quickly. No arrests were immediately made.
