Attempt to buy PS5 through Facebook Marketplace ends with armed robbery

AKRON, Ohio — A teen hoping to purchase a videogame system in a sale arranged on Facebook Marketplace ended up being robbed at gunpoint, police say.

The robbery occurred at about 8:20 a.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of Kenmore Boulevard in the Kenmore neighborhood, police say. The teen reportedly met the suspect there and agreed to transfer money to him using a cash app.

After getting the money, the suspect pulled out a handgun and told the teen to leave. Police say the suspect then walked about a block and got into a vehicle.

The victim followed the suspect for a short distance, but stopped when the suspect got out of the car and again pointed a handgun at the victim, police say.
