Authorities have arrested an inmate who escaped from northeast Ohio on Tuesday morning.
Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree announced that Jason Conrad was arrested at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Surveillance officers and a High Patrol airplane spotted Conrad near the intersection of Arlington Street and North Forge Street where he was taken into custody, Fatheree said in a statement.
Conrad escaped on Tuesday around 8 a.m. when a Summit County Sheriff's deputy was transporting him to a medical clinic in Akron. Conrad was handcuffed and in a boot for a previous injury, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
While the officer was removing him from the transport vehicle, Conrad escaped and ran away after removing the boot.
Conrad has charges of Willfully Fleeing, Possession of Drugs, Trafficking in Drugs, and a Parole Violation.
Additionally, Conrad will now face a charge of escape.
Sheriff's deputies, Akron Police, University of Akron Police, Simma Police Highway Patrol Troopers, and the Marshal's Service all took part in Conrad's arrest.
No one was injured during the operation, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
