High-Speed Police Chase in Wisconsin Sparks Debate on Pursuit Policies
On November 14th, a high-speed police chase erupted in Wisconsin, starting in Milwaukee and winding into Fond du Lac County. The incident involved a 24-year-old Glendale man leading authorities on a perilous pursuit in a stolen car at speeds of up to 115 mph. The chase concluded dramatically when the suspect, Stephan Quantrell Jr., crashed near Church Road and was subdued by law enforcement using a taser. Upon searching the vehicle, a firearm and narcotics were discovered, resulting in multiple charges against Quantrell, including Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and fleeing from law enforcement.

The Sheboygan Police Department is asking for help from the public locating a person wanted for serious offenses. The man is 27-year-old Justin Reed. According to the SPD, there is probable cause for his arrest on charges of child abuse locally, while he is also wanted in Milwaukee and several other Wisconsin counties on multiple felony warrants. He lives in Milwaukee, but is known to visit here frequently. He is described as black, 6-feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.

In 2018, then-Gov. Scott Walker’s appointees on the Natural Resources Board approved the very controversial exchange of an interior section and road easement within Kohler-Andrae State Park for a developed parcel along Highway V owned by the Kohler Company. This was to expedite the construction of a golf course on adjacent land. The Sierra Club and the Friends of the Black River Forest recently presented a petition request to Gov. Evers to send this decision back to the Board for reconsideration.
