Man wounded in Adelanto shooting

A man was shot and wounded at a secluded residential property in Adelanto on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The gunfire was first reported just before 1:10 p.m. in the 9300 block of Villa Street, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials and dispatch logs.

"When (deputies) arrived, they discovered a male victim had been shot," sheriff's department spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said. "He is being transported to an area hospital."

No other victims were found at the scene, she said.

The shooter remained at large, Huerta said. No description was available as the investigation remained in its early stages.
