High school track and field athletes from across the state made their final push to qualify for the 114th Drake Relays this past week. The Drake Relays high school field was set Friday. Despite weather interfering at times during the week, there were several outstanding performances from female and male high school track and field athletes, with a select few earning their chance to compete on the Blue Oval at Drake Stadium in Des Moines on Thursday through Saturday.
Drake Relays pole vault competition returns to Jordan Creek Town Center
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — For the first time in a decade, the Drake Relays pole vault event is returning to Jordan Creek Mall. The event was last held at the mall in 2014. It's a venue that allows spectators to watch the competition, hosted in the mall's center court area, from above.
