Boise boy dies after being struck by vehicle while riding his bike
A boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. On April 15 at approximately 7:54 p.m., 6-year-old James Chaffin was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle near East Gowen Road and East Grand Forest Drive in southeast Boise, according to a news release from the Ada County Coroner’s Office. He was pronounced dead of blunt force head injuries at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center on Friday, the release said. An investigation of the accident is being conducted by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

The man who died after he allegedly shot and killed an Ada County Sheriff's Office deputy has been identified. Dennis Mulqueen, 65, died early Sunday after he was shot by police. Law enforcement officials allege Mulqueen fled after shooting Deputy Tobin Bolter on Saturday evening during a traffic stop; he and his vehicle were located a short time later in the area of West Dorian and South Roosevelt streets in Boise. Mulqueen had a warrant for his arrest on a misdemeanor crime, the Ada County Sheriff's Office said.
