Abilene bowling league highlights three weeks into fall leagues

Hope all bowlers had an outstanding summer and you are ready to bowl in the fall/winter leagues. We are three weeks into the U.S. Bowling Congress’ 2023-2024 bowling season.

We have not had any honor scores (300, 800, 900) rolled to date, but from the scores listed below, the honor scores will be coming.

If you would like to bowl in a league, please contact your local centers for league information.

HIGH GAMES/HIGH SERIES

Bowlers with games of 250 or better were Daniel Smith (289), Mike Rutledge (280), Tex Underwood (257), John Lawson (256), Isiah Villereal (255) and David Morgan (254). Bowlers with 700 or better series was John Lawson (723). Women with games of 200 or better were Cathy Morton (212), Lisa Craft/Rachel Early (205) and Karen Rhone 202.

BOWLING HIGHLIGHT

Bowling in the Oil League on Sept. 5, Ricky Duncan bowled a 186 all spare game.

YOUTH BOWLING HIGHLIGHTS

Bowling in the PrimeTime youth league, Rachel Early bowled the highest game of her young bowling career with a very nice 205.

IN MEMORY OF

The bowling community has lost the following bowlers in the last few weeks. They were Linda Crisp, Frank Durilla and Jo Nan Leonhart.

Jo Nan was a long-time bowler, secretary of the Abilene Women International Bowling Congress and a hall of fame member of the Greater Abilene USBC.
