Abilene, San Angelo gas price average remain under $3, among best in Texas

AAA on Wednesday reported the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Texas remains above $3 but showed a 2-cent drop to $3.04.

The national average of $3.43 slipped a little from $3.46.

The Abilene price on average is $2.96, still among the best in the state, even rising about a penny. Several Alon pumps rose to $2.99 by midweek while others pumps held at $2.79. However, by Thursday, that low price had jumped 20 cents at H-E-B and others.

San Angelo's price also rose slightly but remains under $3 at $2.97 on average.

The price dropped in Amarillo and San Antonio by a dime and almost that in Corpus Christi, but rose in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
