Inflation has impacted everyday life for many Americans. In the restaurant industry, inflation has been very troublesome as the cost of food has gone up. So to help many restaurants across the country stay a float, they have added inflation fees to their customers' bills.

“I definitely try to give to businesses, small businesses because they try really hard not to raise their prices,” said Kris Lane, a Local Abilenian.

Restaurants from across the country are adding inflation fees, which are added costs to a customer's bill. These fees are a 4% charge added to each tab. Luckily, here in the Big Country, not many restaurants are adding these expenses to their services. Lane expresses her thoughts on inflation fees.

“It definitely determines how often I go out eating with friends, how often I socialize. I definitely do a lot less going out,” said the Abilene Resident.

Tida, the owner of a local restaurant, Krua Thai, says she will not subscribe to increasing her prices or the inflation fee.

“I think about if, if I'm a customer, and I have to pay that amount, I wouldn’t want to. So, for my restaurant, I decided not to do that because it's very complicated for us.
