    – The City of Atascadero will host Cruisin’ Weekend on Aug. 16-17, featuring several events, including the 31st Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite, the 33rd Annual Mid-State Cruizers Car Show, and the 8th Annual Dancing in the Streets.

Cruisin’ Weekend will begin with Hot El Camino Cruise Nite on Friday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m. This event is one of the largest and most popular in San Luis Obispo County, featuring 350 classic cars from the 1950s, 1960s, and other years. The cars will cruise up and down El Camino Real from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 17, the Mid-State Cruizers Car Show will take place at Atascadero Lake Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can view the interiors and exteriors of various antique cars.

The weekend will continue in downtown Atascadero with Dancing in the Streets at 5 p.m. Performances will include community entertainment on the steps of Historic City Hall and several bands at designated stages around Sunken Gardens. Bands performing include the Cassie B Band, the Vibe Setters, the Steppin’ Out Band, and the 90’s Babiez Ultimate Party Band.

A variety of food trucks will be available during the event, offering options such as Heavenly Hot Dogs, Mary’s Cuisine, The Dough Connection, Quick Comfort Cuisine, Puerto El Grande, Templeton Greek Food, Atascadero High School Greybots, G. Brothers Kettle Corn, Savina’s Tamales, Huatulco Tacos, Sweet Creations, Zen Dog, Wandering Eats, Paradise Shaved Ice, Vaandez Grilled St. Dogs, and Crave Mini Donuts.

Beverages, including beer, wine, cider, margaritas, and distilled spirits, will be available, thanks to the Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo, who have organized the beverage vendors.

Cruisin’ Weekend events are free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase. Local merchants will also be open during the event.
