    – On Friday night at approximately 9:35 p.m., Jesse Ray Sights, 18, of Arroyo Grande was arrested after leading police on a vehicle pursuit, according to an Instagram post by the Arroyo Grande Police Department.

An Arroyo Grande police officer initiated a traffic stop after observing Sights driving recklessly. When contacted, Sights provided a false name and then fled at a high rate of speed.

During the pursuit, Sights reportedly stopped his vehicle several times, but ignored commands from officers to exit and surrender peacefully. A California State Parks K-9 unit and a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s negotiator were requested for assistance.

After multiple attempts to evade police, Sights was ultimately taken into custody with help from the California Highway Patrol.

He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges including evading a peace officer, drunk driving, DUI alcohol, reckless driving, and false representation of identity to a police officer.
