Horse’s metal shoes couldn’t grip the pool tiling to exit the pool, reports say

    – Firefighters came to the rescue of a horse trapped in a pool in rural San Miguel on Saturday.

While the horse’s owners were unloading one of their horses from their trailer, another horse got through an open gate, stepped on the pool cover, and fell into the water, according to a report by the San Luis Obispo Tribune.

The homeowners managed to coax the horse to the shallow end and pulled the cover over to one side so the horse wouldn’t be tangled up.

Volunteers and fire responders realized the horse’s metal shoes couldn’t grip the pool tiling. They worked together to drain the pool enough for the horse to walk on the pool steps as the water was pumped down, the Tribune report said.
