Old age must be catching up with President Joe Biden as he let it slip he was running for re-election in 2024. He didn’t mean to say he was running but he did.
President Biden was elected in 2020 after beating President Donald Trump.
“I plan on running, Al [Roker], but we’re not prepared to announce it yet.”
Though the president is currently 80 years old. Since coming into office he has shown some signs of old age - including forgetfulness.
His birthday is November 20, 1942. By the time he runs for another term, if Biden is elected, he’ll finish the term at the age of 86 years old.
Biden is already the oldest president to serve in office when he was elected in 2020.
A common question people say is whether Biden is too old to be president.
In a recent exam, Biden received a clean bill of health from the White House physician Kevin O'Connor who said recently:
“President Biden remains a healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.”

The Alzheimer’s website lists ten common signs of dementia.
Despite the signs the list provides, Biden has been capable to lead the country as President.
Though President Biden has shown signs of getting older, that may his biggest problem. He has shown signs that he is still capable at times to perform as President as he travels across the country and gives numerous speeches.
He will fall from time to time, but that may just be a sign of old age as he gets off balance.
The Mayo Clinic lists several results of old age but the site did not mention anything about mental cognizance. Everything the Mayo Clinic stated had to do with health issues.
Health-wise, President Biden has been doing well minus the occasional fall when walking.
He likely has the top medical experts look after him since he is the President of the United States.
As we head into 2024, Biden will probably have a few challengers who also want to be the Democratic nominee for President.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said he doesn’t want to be president especially if Biden is running. He may run in 2028, so you’ll have to wait and see.
The number of Republicans running for office is slowly increasing as former President Trump made his announcement last year.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is doing everything to run for office but he hasn’t made a formal announcement as he is on his book tour traveling across the country.
