On Sunday, January 8, President Joe Biden made his first official visit to a border city. He got a first-hand look at the southern border with Mexico as he met with local representatives in El Paso.

The President also was greeted by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as he got off the plane. The meeting for formal and Abbott gave President Biden a letter that spelled out his frustration.

The letter read:

"This chaos is the direct result of your failure to enforce the immigration laws that Congress enacted. Your open-border policies have emboldened the cartels, who grow wealthy by trafficking deadly fentanyl and even human beings. Texans are paying an especially high price for your failure, sometimes with their very lives, as local leaders from your own party will tell you if given the chance. On behalf of all Americans, I implore you: Secure our border by enforcing Congress’s immigration laws."

Governor Abbott wasn’t pulling any punches in his letter which goes back to the various speeches when he complained about President Biden.

Abbott also wrote on the single-page letter:

"Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late. Moreover, your visit avoids the sites where mass illegal immigration occurs and sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners whose lives have been destroyed by your border policies."

Here is a video of the visit by President Biden:

Governor Abbott previously stated that President Biden’s visit was all for show.

Do you think President Biden’s visit will allow him to make better decisions about the border and immigration or was it all for show?
