Let's face is - Los Angeles is beautiful and exciting and is a top destination for many people. There are lots of interesting and cool things to see and do but sometimes, even that can get a bit boring and everyone needs a change of scenery from time to time. In a moment like this when international travel hasn't piqued yet, day trips are all the rage. Luckily, living in Los Angeles means that you have access to a lot of neighboring cities and can truly get out of town and have a day trip to replenish, refresh and recoup.

1.) Santa Catalina Island

This place is straight out of a magazine and truly looks like a place in Europe for less the cost. Santa Catalina is off the coast of California and is for those who love being on a water and enjoying water sports activities. No mention of day trips from Los Angeles is ever complete without Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach is a seaside resort city located in the Orange County with hills spread on every side. What really makes Laguna Beach shine is its beautiful scenery and mild climate that makes it an ideal spot for a day trip. And might I add - getting to Laguna Beach from LA is very easy.

How to get to Laguna beach: Drive for 50 minutes from LA to Laguna Beach or get a shuttle from the LA airport going to Laguna Beach, this takes about 55 minutes and is a cheaper option.
