The much-anticipated Global Gaming Expo (G2E) will return to Las Vegas in October. It will be an in-person event, with the original reporting by Rege Behe from CDC Gaming Reports.
The American Gaming Association is partnering with Reed Exhibitions, and they just announced that their infamous G2E exhibition will take place October 4-7 at the Sands Expo.
This quote comes from Korbi Carrison, the G2E event director: “For over 20 years, G2E has been the leader in uniting the global gaming community, and we are beyond thrilled to come together this October for the industry’s hallmark event.”
This is a large announcement in the gaming community, as the 2020 Global Gaming Expo was canceled due to the global pandemic. In a survey reported by the American Gaming Association, 93% of respondents said they had a strong or moderate need for being at G2E in person. It was a major reason the G2E made for returning to the live format. Also, 80% of respondents said they were either very or somewhat likely to attend the 2021 show if it were held in Las Vegas.
Effective June 1, Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, lifted all capacity restrictions. Additionally, the American Gaming Association also cited commercial gaming revenue reaching $11 billion in the first quarter of 2021, matching its highest ever total.
As originally reported by CDC Gaming Reports, Meredith Pallante, American Gaming Association Vice President of Global Events said: "We can’t wait to bring the industry back together in Las Vegas for G2E 2021. The industry has shown tremendous resilience throughout the pandemic and being able to gather together again will be another great milestone in our strong recovery."
G2E organizers will provide regular updates on the planning process and resources for G2E 2021. If you're interested in being one of the in-person attendees, you can get more information by visiting GlobalGamingExpo.com.
