One of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted suspects, Omar Alexander Cardenas, who is wanted for the homicide of a 46-year-old man in Los Angeles is believed to possibly still be in California, or Mexico, per FBI officials.

Cardenas, per the FBI, is accused of fatally shooting Jabali Dumas at an outdoor shopping center near the Hair Icon Barber Shop in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2019. According to LAPD officials, Cardenas fired nine shots at the victim from a distance of approximately 40 feet, resulting in Dumas' tragic death. Authorities said they have not determined if there was any prior connection between Dumas and Cardenas.

After the shooting, per officials, Cardenas fled the scene in his vehicle and had not been seen since.

FBI officials stated that in April 2020, Cardenas was charged with murder, and in 2021, he faced additional charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, leading to his inclusion in the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted list in 2022.

FBI officials suspect that Cardenas may be located either in Southern California, where he has friends and family, or in Mexico. Cardenas is described as a Hispanic male with dark brown hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'6" tall and weighing between 240 and 300 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The FBI is offering a reward of $250,000 for information that leads to Cardenas' arrest. If you have any information about this individual, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
