Last week, a Colorado Springs Police Officer was making a routine traffic stop of two suspicious motorcyclists. When he attempted to make contact, one of the riders pulled out his firearm, shot at the officer, and hit him at least once. Right after the man who shot the officer took off on his bike to avoid being arrested.
The Police Officer who was shot has been discharged from the hospital and his name has not yet been released, but it has been confirmed that he is recovering from home.
The motorcyclist who attempted to murder the officer has been identified to be 25-year-old Jacob Aaron Sedillo who lives in Colorado Springs.
After attempting to murder the officer, Jacob fled the scene and has not yet been caught. It was been revealed that before this shooting Jacob already had a warrant out for his arrest from a March aggravated motor vehicle theft charge. He has a history of criminal activity as in 2018 he pled guilty to a drug-related charge and he pled guilty to a motor vehicle theft in 2020.
Jacob is being charged with Attempted First Degree Murder. The Colorado Springs police force are still searching for him.
Jacob has been described as a white, Hispanic male, who stands around 5'11 and is around 165 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.
The Colorado Springs Police Department has not released the make and model of Jacob's motorcycle in an attempt to preserve evidence and not risk influencing any potential witnesses. This is an ongoing investigation and as of now, Jacob is still on the loose.
