There were no promotions, demotions, or anything else.... again, at least not publicly. However, Brown did have plenty to say about the team's poor performance in the secondary, what the issues were, and how he plans to change that moving forward. "Anytime I'm evaluating something, I start from the coaching perspective first," said Brown. "We have to evaluate that, and there are some schematics that we got to do better. And we got to get certain people better opportunities to be successful..... There are some schematic things we got to do better.... We're not going to continue to do the same things."With an upcoming opponent in an equally desperate situation, Brown did not into too much detail about those schematic chances, so as to not tip his hand to Kansas. However, he did give a couple examples from the past couple weeks that he was not happy with. "We played some man coverage in situations where it's probably not the best situation for that player," said Brown. "If we had someone else in, maybe so. We've had some checks that we probably don't need to have with certain individuals in the game."Another change coming that Brown did not hesitate to share is that fans will see new faces in the secondary. And, by the sounds of it, the moves may have been something WVU should have done earlier."We got some guys that are not performing as well as they need to and, really, not as well as they're capable of," said Brown. "It's not an effort deal. They're playing with good effort. There is some technique [issues], some lack of discipline.... they're just not playing well. When that happens, you have to give [other] guys opportunities. You can't continue to reward guys for not being productive. That sets a bad precedent for your whole team."And who might some of the beneficiaries of these changes be? "TJ Crandall is going to play more," said Brown. "Jacolby Spells, who we feel is close to 100-percent [healthy] is going to get in the mix. He's going to play. As far as anybody else, it's to be determined this week. I think those are the two main guys at corner that deserve to play and deserve some opportunities to get into the game."There's also one true freshman who may be pushing his way into the two-deep. "The one guy that is a little bit ahead is Keyon Washington," said Brown. "....To be determined on whether it's this week, but he's a guy that I think can help us this year."Regardless of whether it is Washington or some of the more seasoned vets in the room, Brown is looking for one thing - consistency."The frustrating thing is the lack of consistency," he said. "We had three three-and-outs in a row in the second half.... where our execution was at a really high level..... that's where it's frustrating, just the lack of consistency. At the same time, we got to do a better job of putting our guys in position to make plays. We also can't reward guys who don't play well by continuing to play them. It is a business."</div></body>
