The duo of 7-1, 200 lb. big man Isaiah Medina and 6-5, 180 lb. wing Kruz McClure have climbed up the 247 Sports rankings which were updated on Wednesday afternoon. Holtmann struck right as the two prospects got hot during the July evaluation period. Medina checks in to the latest 247 rankings at 141st in the nation, 22nd best center prospect in the country, and is now a four star prospect. On the 247 Sports Composite, Medina is 115th nationally and the 18th best center. Medina was previously a three star prospect. McClure is ranked 143rd in the nation, the 26th best shooting guard prospect in the country, and is now a four star prospect. McClure was previously unranked. The Blue Demons now have the 28th best recruiting class in the nation.Isaiah, from Gibbs High School in Saint Petersburg, Florida, chose DePaul over offers from St. Louis, South Florida, West Virginia, and Xavier. Medina received a lot of attention after turning in a great performance at the NCAA Basketball Academy in late July.Holtmann offered Medina a scholarship after watching him play on the Puma PRO16/NXT grassroots circuit this summer. "We were only able to catch a brief glimpse of this seven-footer with a rapidly growing reputation last week at the Puma Pro16 Finals, but we saw a lot more of him at the NCAA Academy," said 247 Sports National Basketball Director Eric Bossi. "He appears to be a legit seven-footer, he can run very well, he's got good hands and he showed some soft touch. He has to get a bit stronger and continue to build his offensive game but he's not a bad scorer and has some potential as a rim-protector and rebounder. While he's still very much a work in progress, there's a lot to like here and his upside is tremendous. In a 2025 class that is a bit thin on post players, his recruitment could take off quickly."Medina is of Puerto Rican descent and recently represented Puerto Rico in international play in the FIBA U18 Americup Games, where he averaged 6.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.McClure, a shooting guard from Westerville, Ohio, chose the Blue Demons over offers from Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Clemson, Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Florida Atlantic, Rhode Island, Tulane, VCU, and Xavier. "McClure is a long 6-foot-6 wing with guard skills," said 247 Sports Publisher Rick Broering. "He can handle, pass, and shoot from the outside. He shows a good feel for the game, gets to his spots well, and has an excellent pull-up jumper." Holtmann offered McClure a scholarship after watching him play on the Adidas grassroots circuit this spring with his MR22 Elite team. "Kruz McClure was a big July riser who played his way into multiple high-major offers," said 247 Sports' Adam Finkelstein. "Big guard who can shoot and play-make."McClure averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, &amp; three assists on the Adidas circuit while shooting 45 percent overall, 41 percent on threes, and 78 percent from the free throw line. McClure averaged 23.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, three assists and 2.7 steals as a junior, earning Player of the Year honors in both the OCC-Capital and Central District in Ohio Division I. This included a 40-point performance on December 8, 2023 against Dublin Scioto (Ohio).He also was first-team All-state and a finalist for Mr. Basketball in Ohio. McClure recently announced that he will be transferring from Westerville South High School to DME Academy at St. John's Northwestern Academies in Delafield, Wisconsin for his senior season. "I've decided to transfer so I can start getting physically ready to make an impact at the next level," McClure said. "DME has some great plans to get me mentally and physically ready for college."
