Authentik Fudge recalled "840 units of Chocolate Fudge with Nuts branded MONTREAL FUDGE" on August 21st due to potential mold pieces found within the chocolate. According to the United States Food & Drug Administration , the contaminated fudge, distributed on June 19th and June 20th of this year, was sold at select TJ MAXX and Marshalls stores across the U.S., including those in Pennsylvania .

Affected lot numbers and expiration dates include "lot 0241500805 with expiration date of 2025/MR/01, lot 0241690105 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, and lot 0241690205 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17." The aforementioned information can be located on the back of the packaging.

No illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming MONTREAL FUDGE with nuts, but officials are still urging consumers to "destroy" the product ASAP. Customers can also return the fudge at the place of purchase for a refund rather than dispose of it.

The contaminated chocolates were sold at TJ MAXX stores in "Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Wyoming," and Marshalls stores in "California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania , South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming."
