WOODVILLE, WI – The Syttende Mai Royal Banquet was held last Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Woodville Community Center (Lions Den). It was soggy outside but warm and congenial inside the Community Center where the Woodville Lions Club, Queen’s Committee introduced four lovely young B-W High School freshmen who have been practicing for the 2024 Syttende Mai Coronation on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Viking Middle School. They were joined by 2022-23 Syttende Mai Royalty, Syttende Mai Queen Maran Luckwaldt and Princess Ellenor Vance.
Crash on I94 near Baldwin results in three injuries
At 9:08 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024 Wisconsin State Patrol Inspectors and Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in St. Croix County on Interstate 94 at milepost 18 near Baldwin. Preliminary evidence from the crash scene indicates that a semi-tractor-trailer was traveling westbound in the left lane. The semi crossed into the right lane, striking a Ford Edge. Both vehicles then traveled off the roadway and came to rest in the north ditch. The driver of the semi was transported to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the Ford Edge had non-life threating injuries and were not transported.

Three days of tree planting for Arbor Day 2024
WOODVILLE, WI – “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” – Chinese Proverb. For the second year, the Botany Belles and Beaus Garden Club (BBGC) worked with the Village of Woodville to plant trees throughout the Village. Thanks to generous donations from the Lions Club, Sons of Norway, Wisconsin Valley Service Unit Girl Scouts, Paul Seeling, Nola Johnson, and the Tom Solum Family, Woodville NOW has 21 additional trees in its public spaces.

SPRING VALLEY, WI – Nestled in the scenic hills of Western Wisconsin, the Spring Valley Golf Course (SVGC) has been an area attraction since 1971. Originally started as a municipal project in 1968, the course officially opened with just nine holes in July of 1971. Several years later after being privately bought, the course was expanded to an eighteen-hole golf course.
Woman pleads guilty in home invasion case
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - An Eau Claire woman reached a plea agreement for charges relating to a Dunn County home invasion in June 2023. Court documents show that on May 3, 22-year-old Megan Dehate of Eau Claire, Wis., pleaded guilty to burglary-arming self with a dangerous weapon and physical abuse of an elderly person - intentionally causing bodily harm/causing great bodily harm with the modifier use of a dangerous weapon.
