ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis police are asking for help identifying a robbery suspect. According to police, the suspect stopped two men in the area of North 2nd and Morgan around 11 p.m. on Friday and asked for a cigarette. The suspect then pulled out a black handgun and demanded money. As the men handed their wallets to the suspect, the suspect punched them in the face multiple times, knocking them to the ground.
Illinois State Police attempting to locate person of interest after woman killed in St. Clair County
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (First Alert 4) - The Illinois State Police Department is attempting to locate a person of interest after a woman was killed. Authorities said there was a shooting in the 1300 block of North 44th Street in East St. Louis around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived on the scene, a woman who had been shot was pronounced dead.
Godfrey couple thanks first responders
Godfrey couple Andy and Shirley Zirkelbach, 90 and 88 respectively, visited Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick’s office Wednesday morning to extend their thanks to the first responders who came to their rescue on May 15 th, 2024, when the deck on their home collapsed. Madison County Deputy Sheriff Sydnie Williams was able to kick down the door of their home to gain access to the couple.
St. Louis judge agrees to extradict Illinois man accused of killing brothers
Jeffrey Austwick, 54, of Highland Park, Illinois, has agreed to waive extradition proceedings and return home to face charges for the murders of his two brothers, Marc and John, who were found dead outside their home on June 5.
Minor injury reported in Hartford fire
One person suffered a minor injury Monday evening in a fire at a home in Hartford. Crews responded to the home in the 100 block of South Olive Avenue to the report of a small fire in the kitchen and it was put out quickly. Damage was limited but one of the occupants was treated for an unknown injury that was reported to be non-life-threatening.
