Neighbor cited over loud music
Cenobio Salmeron, 28, of Bellefontaine, was issued a citation for excessive noise around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, following a complaint by a neighbor of loud music. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the area of the 1300 block of Carlisle Avenue following a report from a man who said his neighbor, the defendant, was playing his music and singing along at an excessive volume.

TROY – The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field team was in fourth place Thursday after day one of the Wayne Invitational held at Troy Memorial Stadium. The Tigers had three relay teams with podium finishes including the shuttle hurdle team of Claire Longshore, Alaina Irving, Hattie Jacobs and Sophia Hardwick placing second in a school record time of 1:08.53, the 4,000 distance medley team of Ashley Yoder, Mallory Bostick, Addie McAuley and Malia Miller placing fourth (13:08.06) and the same quartet of Miller, McAuley, Yoder and Bostick teaming up for a fifth-place finish in the 4×800 relay (10:09.72).

The Leathery Company has announced that they have signed a lease for a new T.J. Maxx in the Fontaine Plaza, located in the 1700 block of south Main Street in Bellefontaine. Work will begin this summer on the new 20,288-square-foot store, Donald L. Leathery Jr. said in a press release.
Issue of adult-use marijuana sales in city comes before council
Bellefontaine City Council members are set to take up the issue of the sale of marijuana within the city limits. Council was addressed during a regular meeting Tuesday, April 24, about the question of whether or not to permit a marijuana dispensary in Bellefontaine. Brian Wingfield spoke to council and asked permission for a cannabis shop to be permitted in the city.

The motorist charged in the January death of a 17-year-old high school student pleaded guilty Tuesday, April 23, to multiple charges including a first-degree felony in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
