Man arrested after motorcycle chase in Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A Wyndmere, North Dakota, man was arrested after a chase in south Fargo on Monday night. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to stop 23-year-old Andrew Vasquez around 8:00 p.m. on June 10. The deputy was in the area of 32nd Avenue and University Drive South when they saw Vasquez popping wheelies on his motorcycle.

Though it is a service that may fly under the radar, the Marshall County Healthcare Center (MCHC) in Britton offers essential at-home care services for patients in need. Truss Pros carded an eightunder-par 60 to take top honors in the annual Britton Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament held at the Britton Country Club on Friday. The foursome of Luke and Tena Kraft and Craig and Angela Grupe topped the 17-team field in the scramble event. HealthFirst Chiropractic finished second in the first flight with a 62, and the Marshall County Journal was third at 63.

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH
The building had been a pool hall, a barber shop, a liquor store and a bar/restaurant. Located at 314 Broadway Ave, right on Main Street in Eden, South Dakota, this space had truly stood the test of time. But by the 2010’s, it had sat empty for about a decade. That’s when local resident Sam Pitzl got to thinking. His vision and desire to help reinvigorate the building and Main Street in Eden eventually became the quaint ice cream shop, Sam’s Five and Dime.
COUNCIL APPROVES, ADOPTS TREE ORDINANCE AFTER CHANGES
The Britton City Council held their June meeting last Tuesday. Ordinance #607 regarding trees was again a big topic of conversation. At last month’s meeting, the second reading of the ordinance had been postponed to allow time for the council to consider public opinion. Various people again spoke on the matter at Tuesday’s meeting. Tom Farber asked again about planting trees on right of ways adjacent to the streets. He was told it would be unlikely on his property given the stipulations of the ordinance.
Wahpeton standoff suspect charged in Richland County
WAHPETON, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A man who was the subject of a stand-off and manhunt, prompting a shelter-in-place in Wahpeton on Friday is now formally charged. Nathan VanCleave Deemer, III, is charged with felony counts of terrorizing (child victim) and preventing arrest. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and domestic violence.

U12 Club Scores 30 Runs In Season-Opening Sweep
The Britton U12 baseball team showed some firepower in its season-opening doubleheader sweep of Webster last week Wednesday, scoring 30 runs in 15-12, 15-6 victories. The local nine played the Aberdeen Smitties U11 squad last night Tuesday, host Sisseton on Thursday, play at Groton on Saturday, and host Groton on Tuesday.
