Everyone is invited to a family friendly event in Taneyville. The Village of Taneyville, L.O.D.G.E. Church Ministries and Central Taney County Fire will host the Village of Taneyville Annual Picnic Saturday, June 22, at Sullinger Park. The event begins at 11 a.m. and admission is free.
Forsyth Police Officers awarded for bravery
Forsyth Police Chief Pat Gray awarded two officers for their acts of selfless bravery. On Monday, May 20, during the Forsyth Board of Aldermen meeting. Gray awarded Officer Jason Flowers the Law Enforcement Purple Heart and a Police Department Challenge Coin. Gray presented Officer Michelle Rackley an award for her bravery and a challenge coin at the meeting as well.
Branson businessperson dies at 91
Branson businessperson Ann Bluto, known for the city's Imax theater and a handful of restaurants, has died. Bluto died May 14 at age 91, according to her obituary posted to GreenlawnFuneralHome.com. With husband Paul, Ann Bluto purchased Branson entertainment and hospitality company Itec Attractions in 1998, according to past reporting....
Honor Flight of the Ozarks prepares for first flight of 2024 on May 29
Honor Flight of the Ozarks held a training session for 81 veterans and 81 guardians Sunday, May 19, at Springfield-Branson National Airport for the first Honor Flight of 2024. The daylong trip to Washington, D.C., will take the veterans to visit their memorials. This trip will have one veteran from World War II; 16 from the Korean Conflict, including one woman; and the remainder from Vietnam, including two women. One veteran from Arkansas is going on the trip.
New Assistant Principal at Branson’s Buchanan Elementary
Branson Public Schools announced a new assistant principal for Buchanan Elementary. Dustin Ewers will be moving north to take the position, replacing Jared Howerton, who has moved to a new position to serve at Branson Junior High School as both Activities Director and Assistant Principal.

Tipton baseball fell 5-1 to Iberia in the MSHSAA Class 2 semifinals Monday in Ozark. The Rangers (27-0) defeated the Cardinals in their previous meeting this season by the same score. Iberia’s Tanner Peterson mowed down Tipton hitters, throwing a complete game and striking out 13 batters.
