Salina, N.Y. — Traffic is backed up on southbound Interstate 81 into Syracuse on Monday after a crash. A car struck a person around 10:50 a.m. in Salina just north of Exit 25A (Thruway), according to Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a spokesperson for the State Police. The person was in the roadway to retrieve a canoe that blew off their vehicle, she said.

Driver 'blacked out' in Susquehanna crash, state police say
HARFORD, Pa. — A New York man lost control of his SUV and crashed Sunday on Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County, state police at Gibson said.
