Chaos erupted in a typically quiet Austin neighborhood Monday evening, turning it into a scene of deadly retribution. The Austin Police Department responded to multiple calls around 6 p.m. on April 22, after gunfire was reported at 11215 Research Boulevard. One of the panicked callers described a man running while recklessly shooting. Another distraught caller witnessed a gruesome scene, with a person gunned down near the back of an apartment complex, while a third spoke of a similar horror unfolding by the nearby HEB, according to the Austin Police Department.
