Man convicted of first-degree murder for stabbing roommate 17 times in Roseville
ROSEVILLE — A Placer County jury found a man guilty of first-degree murder for stabbing his roommate 17 times in their Roseville home, prosecutors said Tuesday. On June 15, 2022, first responders went to the 400 block of Loretto Drive for a report of a man down inside a home. The victim was found on the living room floor with a broken-off knife in his abdomen, the Placer County District Attorney's Office said.

Deadly Arden Arcade crash caused by red light runner, officers say
ARDEN ARCADE – Authorities say a deadly crash on an Arden Arcade street was caused by a driver running a red light. The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Watt and El Camino avenues. Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the scene and found a sedan and an SUV had been involved in a crash. California Highway Patrol says it appears one of the vehicles ran a red light, then collided with another vehicle in the intersection. The impact sent one of the vehicles into a pole. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP says. Another person was treated by medics and released at the scene. The name of the person who died has not been released, but he was said to be a man in his 30s. California Highway Patrol will be investigating the crash. It's unclear, at this point, which vehicle was at fault.

USA Properties Fund breaks ground on 200+ affordable apartment community
An affordable apartment community promising “much-needed housing for residents” in West Roseville broke ground Tuesday morning. Terracina at Winding Creek by USA Properties Fund will be a 284-apartment community with one- to three-bedroom apartments, according to a press release. It will have 71 three-bedroom apartments, 97 one-bedroom apartments and 116 two-bedroom apartments.The project is set to include a northern site at 3440 Westbrook Blvd. and a southern site at 1040 Lower Bank Drive.
