Time to Take Off Those Studded Tires
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Do you still have your snow tires on? Maine law states that studded tires should be off people’s cars by May first. This rule applies to all vehicles unless a special permit has been granted by the Commissioner of Transportation. In Aroostook County, where snow storms can happen throughout the spring, many people wait until mid-April to get their tires taken off. This can cause auto repair shops and garages to be extra busy with tire changeovers this time of year. Hogan Tire in Presque Isle says they’re currently backed up until May 14th with people waiting to have their tires taken off.

The eerie case of an Arizona man found dead in Maine has taken a bizarre twist, as a former Washburn police officer stands accused of fudging police records tied to the man's disappearance. Erik Foote, a U.S. Army veteran reported missing since January 30, was identified as the body found near the Aroostook River, per the state medical examiner's office. As reported by Fox 10 Phoenix, the cause of death is still under investigation with results "pending" additional tests.
