Boothbay Harbor Police make 4 arrests
Boothbay Harbor Police Department made four arrests between March 27 and April 29. On April 1, Officer Makenzi Strout and Chief Doug Snyder arrested Robert Harvey, 30, of Boothbay on a warrant. Harvey was arrested for a second time on April 8. Strout and Sgt. Jake Powers arrested Harvey for violation of conditional release and operating while license suspended or revoked.

Broadband expands in Lincoln County
The towns of South Bristol and Newcastle, Lincoln County, and LCI/Tidewater are pleased to announce the start of ReachME Broadband projects to build out fiber optic networks in the two towns. The state grant was awarded last year, and recently details were announced. Funding for each project comes from the Maine Connectivity Authority, town funds, Lincoln County ARPA funds, and Tidewater.
WMHS studies the Virginia in Wiscasset Harbor
Wiscasset Middle High School history students researched the Virginia at Wiscasset Harbor April 22. The Virginia this one commemorates was built in 1608 at Popham Colony. Ruth Burchstead, an AP American history student, said, “I enjoyed learning about the historical context of the Virginia ship. The Virginia was built as an exploration ship that would travel the coast of Maine to catch mainly cod to bring back to England along with lumber and fur. But instead of being an exploration ship, the Popham Colony used it to get back to England.”
