RiverView Apartments to take first occupants for summer
Two Big Sky Community Housing Trust buildings will open first, five Lone Mountain Land Company buildings plan to open in fall. Since various partners broke ground in May 2023, seven buildings have sprung up along the south side of Montana Highway 64 (Lone Mountain Trail), called the RiverView Apartments. The first pair of buildings will house local workers this summer.

Letter to the Editor: Are we underutilizing our newcomers?
I purchased a home in Big Sky two years ago. With the exception of receiving some email solicitations from nonprofit listservs that I proactively signed up for, I have never been personally asked to donate to a local nonprofit, support a county initiative or do anything to support our community. This has left me wondering whether other newcomers are being overlooked and if there are ways to better engage our new residents. I have been pondering possible opportunities. Give Big Gallatin Valley to support over 200 nonprofits across Bzeman, Big Sky and beyond
Give Big Gallatin Valley, an annual effort to rally donations for Gallatin County’s numerous nonprofits, is taking place May 2 and 3. In its 10th year, Give Big, produced by One Valley Community Foundation and sponsored by the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation, is a 24-hour celebration from 6 p.m. May 2 to 6 p.m. May 3 and last year alone brought 6,650 community members together to raise over $2.92 million for 250 local nonprofits.
BSCO opens registration for summer softball league
Teams and players can now register online for the summer Big Sky Co-ed Softball League. The league’s 24th season will begin on May 28, earlier than usual to squeeze in an abridged season before the Big Sky Community Organization begins construction at the Big Sky Community Park in early August—the east softball field and the adjacent soccer fields will be converted into artificial turf, multi-use fields. That phase of park improvements is estimated for completion in July 2025, according to a follow up email from BSCO.
Check mailboxes this week for May 7 election mail-ballots
School and special district ballots have been mailed as of today, April 19. Voters can expect to receive their ballots next week, according to a release from Gallatin Votes. The following school districts will receive ballots: Amsterdam, Bozeman (High School), Bozeman (Elementary School), Belgrade, Big Sky, Cottonwood, Lamotte, Monforton, Three Forks and West Yellowstone.

Lone Peak seniors honored in community scholarship ceremony
Friends of Big Sky Education organize over $100,000 in community-donated scholarships for 25 students. On April 2, Lone Peak awarded 25 Lone Peak High School seniors with community scholarships. Organized by Friends of Big Sky Education, 51 scholarships from Big Sky community members, businesses and organizations brought the total value of post-secondary support to over $100,000.
