Trial date set for 2 men accused of outfitter violations
Two Challis men accused of multiple offenses related to their guided big game hunts have both pleaded not guilty to the charges. A jury trial for Jerrod Farr and Michael Scott is scheduled for May 13 in Pocatello.
Challis youths sweep district spelling bee
Challis Elementary School fourth-grader Emma Bauchman topped the field of 23 youths to win the school district spelling bee last month. Bauchman competed against four students from Stanley School and 18 other Challis school students in grades 4-8.
Late-Season Snow Dumps 2 Feet Across the Rockies
Snow piled up in the Rocky Mountains this weekend, with over two feet of snow reported in parts of Colorado! Even the Denver metro area saw accumulating snow Saturday morning. Many mountainous areas from the Cascades to the Rockies reported heavy snow from mid-week into the weekend, with the Front Range of Colorado reported the highest totals thus far.
Idaho State Bar reprimands Custer County prosecutor
Justin Oleson, the prosecuting attorney for Custer County, who also has a private law practice in Blackfoot, has been given a public reprimand by the Idaho State Bar. The reprimand follows a March 28 decision by the bar’s professional conduct board. That board conducted a two-day hearing in mid-February, which stemmed from a complaint the bar filed against Oleson last September alleging actions by Oleson that violated the bar’s rules of professional conduct. The bar sought to have Oleson disbarred from the practice of law in Idaho.
