More arrests made, more pending in the Backyard Grill and Bar shooting in Sumter
SUMTER, S.C. — More arrests have been made and more are pending in the March 10 shooting incident that left four people injured outside of a bar in Sumter, South Carolina. Sumter Police say that, since earlier arrests of eight people on March 19 in connection with the shooting at Backyard Bar & Grill, two other suspects have been arrested and one suspect turned himself in early Tuesday, April 30. So far, a total of 13 suspects have been arrested and Sumter Police have warrants out for two more in connection to the shooting.

Three people arrested for exploitation of assisted living resident in Sumter
Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of three people accused of stealing from an assisted living resident in Sumter. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that his office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (SCMFCU) arrested Sonya D. Bradley, 58; Ronnie M. June, 33; and Antonio K. Shad, 37 years old, all from Sumter on one count each of exploitation of a vulnerable adult and one count of criminal conspiracy, serious charges that carry significant penalties.
Sumter church prepares to open new children's home through help from community after five years of work
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — In Sumter County, a new childrens’ home is on the cusp of opening. On Tuesday night, members from surrounding churches are gathering to help furnish the rooms.
