Fire breaks out at Paramount Coffee near downtown Lansing
Lansing firefighters are on the scene of a fire inside the Paramount Coffee Company building across the street from Jackson Field, home of the Lansing Lugnuts baseball team. The affected building is on Larch St., which is also closed at this time.
Craft brewery, taproom to open in Owosso next week
OWOSSO, Mich. (WNEM) - The only craft brewery and taproom in Shiawassee County will be open for business on Monday, May 6. Barrister Brewing Co., located at 902 W. Main St. in Owosso, is housed in a historic building from the 1800s. It’s been turned into a taproom, brewhouse, and commercial kitchen, but the company kept many of the building’s historic elements, such as the original flooring and original front doors.
'Lucky dogs' set to appear on Michigan Lottery tickets
LANSING — The Michigan Lottery is turning to to a group of four-legged friends in an effort to get tongues wagging about its new game. The Lottery is introducing the Lucky Dog instant game June 4 and each ticket features a photo of a Michigan dog. Each $1 ticket will offer players a chance to win prizes ranging from $1 up to $5,000, with more than $5.5 million in total cash prizes.
