JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KVRR)–Thompson entered Saturday’s championship game versus Grafton winners of two straight class B Titles. They got their third in spectacular fashion. At Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown the Thompson Tommies battled the Grafton spoilers in their quest for a third straight championship. Junior Jonathan Muhs came to the plate with the bases loaded no outs in a tie game and delivered a base hit over the head of the right fielder to score the game winning run.
Fishing Benefit From Low Head Dam Removal
DRAYTON, N.D. (Nick Simonson) – As low head dams fall on and around the Red River, hundreds of miles of habitat is becoming reconnected for the benefit of fish in the main stem of the flow and its tributaries. While lake sturgeon restoration projects beginning in the 1990s have been the impetus for some of these low head dam removals and replacements with stair-step rock rapids, the benefits go beyond the reintroduction of just the ancient fish to the Red River and across all species, according to Nick Kludt, Red River Fisheries Specialist for the Minnesota DNR (MN DNR).

Jim Scobie, 69, of Estate Mafolie, St. Thomas was reported missing Monday, the V.I. Police Department reported. Scobie is a Caucasian male, 165 pounds and 6’3. He was last seen wearing a solid green or plaid shirt, blue jeans, and blue sneakers. Scobie suffers from Alzheimer’s. He is known to drink a lot of water and sleep a lot. He left his residence in the Mafolie area on foot, according to the police report.
