Bolder Boulder participants run, walk, dance and slide their way to Folsom Field on Memorial Day
Approximately 47,000 runners, joggers, wheelchair users and walkers were out in full force Monday morning at the Bolder Boulder. Throughout the city, a parade of bananas, sharks, Barbies and Kens, superheroes and Minions made their way to Folsom Field. Some warmed up at the starting line with hopes of beating personal records, while others said they were just there for the beer and slip and slide.

Bolder Boulder brings in runners from all across the world
The 44th running of the Bolder Boulder is underway. The 10K race winds through the streets of Boulder, Colorado, each year and finishes inside Folsom Field on the University of Colorado campus. This year's official race starter is CU Boulder Chancellor Philip DiStefano, who announced his retirement last year.The race got its start back in 1979 and grew to eventually become one of the country's largest timed road races.
