SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Two thunderstorms triggered tornado warnings in northwest Louisiana this morning. The first warning issued around 9:30 a.m. was for Caddo Parish, as a storm showed rotation on radar near LA-3132 and Mansfield Road. A funnel cloud was reported but so far no reports of anything touching down on the ground.

NWS confirms 6 tornadoes hit northwest Louisiana and southern Arkansas
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The storms that struck the ArkLaTex on Sunday (April 28) spawned four EF-1 and two EF-0 tornadoes, preliminary storm damage surveys show. The National Weather Service office in Shreveport says the outbreak began with an EF-1 in Shreveport that caused damage at Southwood High School and in the surrounding area.
Plain Dealing man dies due to power outage
PLAIN DEALING, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – An elderly man in Plain Dealing died in the aftermath of a round of severe storms that moved through the area Sunday. Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington said a 69-year-old man lost power at his home in the 10000 block of Highway 3 Sunday night. Due to this, his oxygen machine stopped working.

Man sentenced for throwing aerosol can at woman, causing serious injury
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Shreveport man has been found guilty and sentenced in a domestic violence case that happened back in 2021. The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office says Darnell Caldwell, 37, was found guilty April 17. He was sentenced Tuesday, April 30 to a total of 15 years in prison for domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon and causing serious bodily injury.
