A Look Back at the May 5th, 2007 Floods
Northeast South Dakota found itself in the grip of catastrophic flooding on the night of May 5th through the 6th, 2007, as a relentless line of thunderstorms swept across the region. The day began as an area of low pressure with abundant moisture from the Gulf of Mexico with powerful low-level winds lifted across South Dakota, unleashing what meteorologists termed as "training thunderstorms."

LA Squad Competes Twice
The Langford Area track squad competed in a pair of meets during the past week and also had two meets cancelled due to bad weather. Coach Charles Hosford’s crew participated in a meet at Groton last week Tuesday and traveled to Oakes on Thursday. LA was supposed to have competed in Webster on Friday and Milbank on Tuesday but those meets were cancelled.

MANY BRAVE COLD TO PASS IT ON #FOR TREVOR
The annual event is held in honor of Trevor Zuehlke’s foundation that goes to benefit many youth activities. As usual, the race finished with the “Courage Lap” led by Trevor, his family and his team.
