Former Area Police Chief Sentenced to Six Months in Jail after Being Found Guilty of Count of Harrassment
According to WDTV, the former Monongah police chief was sentenced to six months in jail for harassing a woman in Monongalia County. Gregory Knight, 57, of Core, was arrested and charged with stalking in April 2023 after deputies said he was following a woman after she continuously asked him not to. The woman told deputies she arrived home, found Knight’s vehicle in her driveway and went to confront him at the vehicle when he came out of the woods dressed in all black, according to court documents. She also said he showed up at one of her friend’s homes and had to be forcibly removed.
