Man facing animal abuse charges back in jail
TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WAFF) - The man accused of beating and hanging a dog from a tree in Colbert County is back in jail after being arrested for a DUI in Tennessee. Court records state, Garrett Larkin was charged with driving under the influence just after 11 p.m. last Friday on Muddy Creek Rd. in Lenoir City, Tennessee. He was later released on a $1,000 bond the next morning.

An Alabama mom has been arrested for allegedly trying to drown her 10-year-old son in the bathtub—a horror show that only ended when he played dead. The terrifying episode happened after the child told Ashley Elizabeth Jones he would rather live with his father than stay with her—and she threw bleach on him in a rage. AL.com reports that, according to court papers, the boy went into the tub to wash off the caustic chemical and Jones, 34, followed him in and held his head under water for 45 seconds until he pretended to go limp. But the nightmare wasn't over: She allegedly then locked him in the closet for three hours. The boy’s ordeal came to light when he told his father, who has joint custody, that Jones was abusing him and had also bitten and hit him, leaving cuts and bruises, according to court records. RED BAY, Ala. (WAFF) - A Red Bay woman was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree burglary after allegedly attacking another woman with a hammer. According to Red Bay Police Chief Janna Jackson, Anna Allan entered the victim’s apartment on April 3, while the victim was in her bedroom. Shortly after the victim let her into her apartment bedroom, Allen closed the door and attacked her with a hammer.
