Collision on Briley Parkway Claims Decaturville Man
The motorcyclist killed in Sunday’s 3:45 p.m. collision on Briley Parkway near Dickerson Pike is identified as Donald Armstrong, 77, of Decaturville, Tennessee. The preliminary investigation shows that the driver of a 2019 Infiniti was traveling westbound on Briley Parkway approaching the on-ramp from Dickerson Pike onto Briley Parkway when, according to witnesses, Armstrong accelerated up the ramp to enter Briley Parkway and struck the passenger side of the Infiniti.

WMS Wildcats are District Soccer Tournament Champs
The WMS Soccer program began ten years ago this season. In 2023, the WMS Wildcats had their first-ever undefeated season, going 8-0. The 2024 season was nothing less than spectacular. Going into the end of season, the ‘Cats were 7 wins, 1 loss, and 2 ties. There were four teams in this District Tournament, the Sacred Heart Lions, South Lawrence Stallions, Lewis County Panthers, and our very own WMS Wildcats. The ‘Cats had previously suffered a loss to Lewis County early in the season (4-1), and later tied with them in a match here at the Waynesboro Sportsplex.
