Literacy foundation awards over $17k to southwest Arkansas programs
MAGNOLIA, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – Several organizations in southwest Arkansas are getting a helping hand to support adult, family and summer literacy programs. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awards literacy grants to nonprofits, libraries and schools across the country. This year, the foundation granted nearly $145,000 to organizations in Arkansas. These grants help local students reach higher goals for a brighter future.
A Pokey for Porky: Camden Man Takes Aim at Feral Hogs with Hawg Stopper Pen
Randy Kelley was in his deer stand near Camden 22 years ago when he spotted an 8-point buck and two does feeding nearby. He watched for a moment and then saw a female feral hog with piglets attack the buck. The hog ran the deer off, and Kelley shot and killed the sow with his rifle.

BERNICE, La. (KNOE) - According to the Town of Bernice, a boil advisory is effective immediately due to a water main break. The Town of Bernice advises residents to boil their water before using and consuming it; this includes making ice, brushing teeth, or using it when rinsing and preparing food.
