Alaska authorities conduct speed enforcement zones
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - State authorities conducted speed enforcement zones across south-central Alaska to help prevent speeding on highways. On April 20, in a combined effort; Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Anchorage Police Department, Wasilla Police Department, and Palmer Police Department conducted 405 traffic stops, issued 271 citations, 171 warnings, and three arrests for driving under the influence.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has designated April 27 as National Drug Take-Back Day, and the Fairbanks Police Department (FPD) and North Pole Police Department (NPPD) are joining in the annual event.
