Champion dogs from Farmington win Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
FARMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Two Boykin Spaniels from Farmington were crowned the top breed of their kind at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. Five-year-old Mary has won number one Boykin Spaniel for the last three years, and this year, her one-year-old son Colonel was named number one Boykin Spaniel in the country. Mary was named Breed Winner.

A hearing-impaired Burlington man is dead after being struck by a garbage truck on Thursday morning. The Iowa State Patrol says the garbage truck was backing up southbound on Isabella Avenue around 10 a.m. Brian Whittaker, 49, was trying to cross the street when he was hit by the truck.
