Utica man arrested after incident at Oneida Co. Office Building
UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Utica man is in custody after an incident at the Oneida County Office Building in which he pulled a knife on a construction worker. Oneida County Sheriffs were called to the office building’s parking lot on Park Avenue at approximately 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 1. According to police, a construction worker observed a male — later identified as 37-year-old Dominic Launux of Utica — and a female having an argument.
Central NY man who hid 6.5 pounds of fentanyl in car speakers sentenced to 10 years in prison
Syracuse, N.Y. — A Utica man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl from New York City to Oneida County. Eric Ares, 38, previously admitted to transporting the drugs in numerous trips from May 2020 through October 2021. He admitted to buying the drugs through numerous trips to New York City.
Utica woman charged in late-night stabbing
UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A late-night stabbing has put one person in the hospital and another person under arrest in the City of Utica, according to Utica Police. Police were called to the 500 block of Eagle Street at approximately 11 pm on Monday, April 29 regarding a stabbing investigation. Once they arrived, they were met with a victim who had obvious injuries to her arm and hands.
