Morehead offers ARH employees tuition discounts for post-licensure BSN
Morehead State University is offering a tuition discount to Appalachian Regional Healthcare employees who enroll in the post-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. MSU signed a memorandum of understanding with ARH April 15, at ARH Hazard. All full-time ARH employees who enroll for the first time or transfer to MSU will receive a 25 percent tuition discount for the online RN-BSN program.
East Kentucky Gearheads host first Cruise-In of year
On Saturday, April 20, the East Kentucky Gearheads hosted its first Cruise-In event of 2024 at Advance Auto Parts in Paintsville. EKY Gearheads Treasurer David Jaynes said the event was well-attended with approximately 75 cars showing up to the event, which featured free door prizes and concessions. The EKY Gearheads meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Paintsville Recreation Center, Jaynes said, and encourages all members of the public interested in joining and helping promote community and car culture to attend the meetings.
North Knox County Home Engulfed in Blaze, Resident Arrested on Unrelated Active Warrant
A North Knox County residence was the scene of an intense blaze early Tuesday morning. Firefighters were swiftly dispatched to the 9100 block of Brock Road around 1 a.m., where they encountered a module home "heavily involved with fire," according to WATE. The proximity of the house to the roadway posed difficulties for the Rural Metro fire crews, who nonetheless managed to subdue the flames effectively.
