Nicholasville Fire Department employee arrested for hit-and-run in Florida
VOLUSIA CO., Fl (WKYT) - A Nicholasville Fire Department employee and Lincoln County native was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Florida in mid-April. James Eric Lane, 37, of Hustonville, was booked on April 14 in Volusia County Florida, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Burgin Schools Remember Columbine Anniversary With Rachel’s Challenge
Last week, the nation recognized the 25th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting, where 12 students and one teacher were gunned down by two students. More than 370,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine, according statistics compiled by the Washington Post. Meaningful connections between students, faculty, and staff are critical. Last week, the organization Rachel’s Challenge—named after Rachel Scott, the first fatality at Columbine—presented their program at Burgin Independent Schools to assist staff and students in developing an environment that leads to kindness and compassion instead of violence.

Nicholasville road shut down after ‘serious collision’, 1 person in critical condition
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A road in Nicholasville has been shut down because of what authorities are calling a serious crash. Around 9 p.m., the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that there was a serious collision that shut down Union Mill Road and Kentucky 169 between Logana and High Point Drive.
